- Instructional and cognitive impacts of Web-based education discusses the differences between learning from the web as opposed to traditional learning techniques. In particular, Abbey focuses on the aesthetic value of such educational web sites and how this can affect the learning experience. Also, she talks about the teaching differences and how to prepare to teach in such a different setting, the needs of the student when learning from the web and the theoretical and practical development of such educational sites. The growing number of web-based education taking the place of traditional courses is an issue raised in this book and Abbey suggests different design strategies in order to make e-learning more user friendly.

- This online article from The Feature outlines many aspects of wireless teaching in higher education. In the article, Alexander discusses the positives and negatives of being wireless in the classroom, although it is all mostly positive. He talks explains the many benefits that can come of wireless taching such as sharing information, the ability to access information quickly to better a students work, the decrease in learning time, the death of distance and the effects on student behaviour. He also address an aesthitic change that being wireless would bring to the classroom setting. This article looks at many different benefits that wireless technology can bring into the learning environment.

- This book examines the different roles that computers have in different situations, mainly that of in the classroom in a learning and teaching environment, and also its use in exploratory learning and use in secondary schools. Since this book was written in the early nineties, there are issues raised that are somewhat outdated by comparison of today’s books. However, the issue of technological literacy that is addressed is still as relevant then as it is now, as it relates to how effectively one uses the technology to learn. Beynon and Mackay also use case studies to examine the successfulness of the computer in the classroom.

- Boyd-Barrett's Computers and Learning, a reader for an American University course, deals with the computer as a learning aid. The book suggests that although computers can have a hand in assisting one with learning, they may also hinder ones efforts to learn. Apart from discussing the computer and its relationship to learning, Boyd-Barrett also talks about the affect the introduction of such technology might have on teachers, and how this would in turn affect the classroom dynamic. This also leads him to devote some of the book to classroom management and the relationships computing would have to the educational curricula.

- This book looks at the situation of education in Australia and the impact new technologies are having on the system of teaching. It explores how new technologies are, as the title says poisoning the traditional teaching methods and are perhaps taking something away from the teachers themselves. This book uncovers the negative impacts that may occur through e-learning.

- This book examines a wide range of issues surrounding e-learning. It looks at the thoeretical foundation of e-learning as well as the technology itself, as to give the reader an understanding of how to go about using such a technology. On the other hand, this book also gives insight into understanding the different applications and effects that e-learning has on the user. These include the social aspects of a learning community such as social presence in a non-verbal environment.

- E-Education Applications is a collaborative effort giving an in depth framework for e-learning including comprehensive studies into the applications of this technology used in both teaching and learning. In chapter eleven, the book suggests that e-learning has played a part in innovating education. Also, in chapter two, a case study reveals how e-learning has helped to innovate teaching methods. This book discusses many other issues that surround e-education such as methods of online teaching, the virtual learning environment, an investigation into the human factors of online teaching and the transition into this technology. Overall, this book gives a very detailed account of the e-learning environment so far.

- This book deals with the organisation of e-learning environments and their structure and interface design. It is focused mainly to educate teachers about the differences between teaching and learning in the classroom, and teaching and learning electronically. Gilliani discusses ways to apply behavioral theories, teaching models, cognitive, social and psychological theories into these environments in order to create a successful e-learning environment.

Apart from explaining the technical side to being wireless, the focus of this article is more so on the challenges that come with the technology and improvements that should be made in order to benifit the learning environment. This article also discusses the advantages of wireless technology such as student collaboration, ease of distance learning and new innovative teaching techniques.

This book mainly focuses on the benifits of computers in a learning environment and how they can appeal to a wide range of intellects and enhance the learning experience.

As the title suggests, it is the digital revolution that is changing the way we think about the methodologies of teaching and learning, as is discussed in Raschke’s book

As well as covering the technology itself, the article discusses the advantages that students have by being able to access the technology as well as future projections for the wireless technology.

- This book takes a look at the World Wide Web as a medium for teaching and learning and also its use as an information resource. In his book, Wolfe discusses the subject of online learning; using the Web as an instrument to be used to help one attain knowledge and how this system of learning supports this need. On top of this, Wolfe also addresses the issues surrounding the users themselves. Issues that are addressed included the social and cognitive demands that are instilled upon the learner and the effect this method of instruction might have on an individual. Also, the issue of identity on the internet is covered. This book gives the reader a general look at e-learning and the effects on the learners themselves.

- This online article from the Palm Info Centre details and experiment done making use of wireless technology in the Stanford University of Medicine. The article outlined an important social aspect that was apparent when the technology was in use, that is, the reduction of embarrassment from peers when in a learning situation. This short, yet informative article also specified the technologies certain use in the future and how this method of teaching delivers a much faster way of learning.
