This book gives a brief vision about how the mobile phone technology will be going. It also described how the wireless technology of mobile phone works, also providing a clear definition of networks such as GSM and the third generation (3G) network. A complete glossary of the system operator providing mobile phone services of every country is well listed helping to understand more such as which type of system the most was used. Besides this, many technologies which are related to the mobile phone industry were also stated because these technologies were developing rapidly was basically because of the demand of the mobile phone industry. Negative impacts of the mobile phones such as health issues were also mentioned by Schneiderman.

“IP to 3G� is about the latest mobile phone technology, 3G. It explored the convergence of the mobile phone, explaining that the 3G mobile phones now are not only for simple communication but also enabling to be a medium which is rather similar to the IP (Internet Protocol), allowing mobile phones to achieve high speed connection. Real usage and benefits of the 3G technology was also clearly stated in the book. 4G technology was also mention, also including a discussion about what it is. In the book, issues such as mobile phones replacing palmtop computers etc were mentioned. Readers will also clarify what is 3G, how it works, how can it be used besides communication. Comparison of IP and the 3G were also made. The differences of the four 3G system: IMT 2000, W-CDMA, CDMA 2000 and EDGE were compared and discussed.

Regli had in-sighted the importance of the wireless communication in order to help the related industries to have a much opened vision. The impact and the role of the wireless communication in the future were discussed. Changes of the current situation of individual organisations franchising telecommunications unlike in the past, while mostly these were owned by each nation’s government were also stated. Visions of the wireless communication from different points of view such as politically, economically and technologically were mentioned by Regli. Comparison on the development of the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia and Brazil was included in the book. Regli believes that the wireless communication is a whole new revolution in the telecommunication industry. Explorations of the expansion in the wireless communication from different areas such as corporate strategists, government policy makers and academic researchers are what this book will help the assignment.

Schneiderman had a future vision about the development of the wireless communication including mobile phones. These ideas were brought out in 1994, which is able to be a comparison to see how the mobile phone industry had developed in the past 10 years. A few things such as “the leading mobile phone manufacturers in the future� were accurate in the book. Conclusions can then be made to discuss how far had this industries actually developed. A whole chapter in the book is about the unhealthy publicity of mobile phones, discussing about this negative impact and the biggest obstruct in development of the mobile phone industry.

The title of the book “Meganet� means communication networks which covers the whole wide world. Dizard emphasised that communication is one of the largest and fastest growing industry in the world today. The book is detailed the importance of communication network in the world today which is an important issue with the mobile phone industry. Dizard discussed about how the telecommunication (including wireless communication) can help to change the human life. Dizard explained that a network set up by various types of different telecommunication mediums will make communication to access anywhere around the world in the nearby future. Along with these developments on the whole network on telecommunication, the mobile phone industry will also be developed as it is one of the most important medium.

This book explained the phenomenon of the mobile phones in the Japan market, explaining why Japan had became a country with the fastest technology growth and high humidity of mobile phones in the world. It also in-sighted about how DoCoMo (Japan’s leading mobile phone system operator and manufacturer) managed to use it’s regulation to create and build it’s market with their well designed plans for mobile phone users, making the mobile phone not only a simple communication device. The speed of the internet connection for mobile phones in Japan was five times faster than the speed of the internet connection from the rest of the world. Reasons leading Japan’s mobile phone industry to develop far ahead from the world was also mentioned. Demand of the mobile phone market and expectations on the future development of mobile phones was discussed. Comparison between the mobile phone services provided in Europe, United States with the mobile phones services in Japan (DoCoMo system operator) were also written in the book. DoCoMo also provided entertainment for their customers via mobile phones. Personalised information selected by the mobile phones users were also provided, enabling the customers to receive news of information updates that they want to see via mobile phone internet connections.

This book is not only about the mobile phone industry, but also focuses on the usages which are available for mobile phones, from the IrDA, Bluetooth technology to the OS for mobile phones. A brief description from the first generation phones to the future fourth generation (4G) phones was provided. Besides this, a future concept about how the mobile phones will be developed in the next 30 years was recorded in the book. Dornan discussed the reason about why companies especially in Europe are willing to invest trillions of dollars on 3G. The maturity of this current mobile phone technology and the accessibility of it were listed. New mobile phones which are functioned with OS, enabling it to process basic works similar to a computer was mentioned in the book, discussing what else can a mobile phone become in the future. The convergence of the E-commerce, the M-commerce was discussed in the book.

This survey too included an insight to the safety and heath problems brought out by the mobile phone, investigating the understanding of mobile phones users about the risk of using mobile phones.

This paper is basically discussing the attitudes of them mobile phone users, discussing how mobile phones links up with the society. It focuses on the calling behaviours of the users, users approach and managing the mobile phones. A group of new users on mobile phone were categorised according to their gender, age group, occupations and lifestyle attributes. The influences and changes to their lifestyle and courier were recorded and generalise. These data helps to decide the development on mobile phone, making decisions on how mobile phones should be designed to fit better in to the lifestyles and habits of the users.

This article provided the “real� usage of mobile phones by the majority of people in the world today. Many insight views into the wide usage on mobile phones for communication and entertainment were provided; these included gossiping with mobile phones and text messages. These are among the reasons why mobile phones became a must have communication device for the people in the 21st century. It also helped to make the mobile phone industry to develop. From the article, we understand that gossiping is a common habit for most people. Thus, with mobile phones, people will feel that they will have more privacy as these devices are private and being able to use it anywhere the user wants.
